Most prices for readings are set to the time-length of the session rather than the specific type (e.g., natal interpretation, transit forecast or progressions).  The only exception is the personal daily forecast reading, which is available to clients who already have charts on file; this reading has no set time frame and will take as long as it takes (though generally the necessary information can be covered in five to ten minutes).

Readings are available in person at Books, Beans, and Candles, and can be conducted in the casual setting of the common room or privately in one of the store's reading rooms.  Interpretations via e-mail will be available soon as well.

Reading rates:
15 minutes: $20
30 minutes: $35
1 hour: $50
Personal Daily Forecast*: $10
*only available to preexisting clients

Fifteen-minute readings primarily focus on the natal chart due to time constraints.  Most initial half-hour and hour-long readings incorporate major transits and/or progressions as well.  Once an initial session examining the natal chart has been done readings are more client-directed, with focus on specific questions or periods of interest/concern to the owner of the chart.

Natal Chart Interpretation

WHAT IT IS: A graphical representation of the relative location of the planets at the place and time of birth.  Ideally, the chart is calculated for the minute of birth; if no birth time is available, however, the reading can still provide useful information.

WHAT IT DOES: The natal chart interpretation is the foundation of personal astrology.  It addresses the nuances of the client's personality, talents and challenges, major themes of life and much more.

Personal Transit Forecast

WHAT IT IS: A comparison of the position of the planets at the present time (or any specific date) to their location in the natal chart.

WHAT IT DOES: Examines the influences active in a person's life at a specific time and clarifies their nature and purpose.  Transits can assist in making sense of turbulent phases of life and in helping the client figure out how to best gain benefit from such times.  They're also useful for planning ahead in order to take advantage of periods in which the astrological climate favors certain activities - handling legal issues, beginning a new project, pursuing a romantic interest, etc. - and can aid in finding alternatives for plans that the transits suggest will be unlikely to succeed.

Personal Progressions

WHAT IT IS: A traditional method of prediction and analysis that relies on the rule of "a day for a year."  The progressed chart advances the natal chart by one day for each year of life; i.e., a thirty-year-old person's progressed chart would be their natal chart set for their accurate birth time, but thirty days after their actual birth.

WHAT IT DOES: Offers a subtler but often more profound look at broad periods of a client's life, and particularly the evolution of his/her personality over time.  Comparing transits (above) to the progressed chart can frequently reveal nuances of situations that simply reading the transits or the progressions alone would miss.
